FaceTime could not sign in check network connection

I just bought a new iPod touch, and i kept on getting the following error message “facetime could not sign in check network connection” every time i try to sign in into FaceTime. even after i tried to restart the iPod , that made no difference.

SOLUTION:

I Simply changed the DNS Settings in
Settings –> Network –> Chose the network –> chose DNS and change it to google dns 8.8.8.8

go back to save your settings , and try now.

That did work on my iPod , and might work for your problem as well, as long as google DNS is not down, and your connectivity with apple server is not due to incorrect DNS.
